With her antenatal support I felt confident and affirmed in my birth preferences. During labour, Amanda came to our home and kept me focused and on track and supported my partner so he could support me - in this way I was able to stay at home until baby and I were ready to transfer to hospital (win!). At hospital, Amanda never stopped advocating for me yet also formed a connection with the midwives on duty - an important connection and fine balancing act! I can unequivocally say I would not have had all the positive labour, birth and postpartum outcomes I did without Amanda’s knowledge and skills (special shout out to Amanda’s skills in optimal maternal positioning which allowed my baby to find his way and let my labour progress).
